It’s 46 degrees in Lakewood at 1:30pm. The warm weather and sun we had this past week has taken a big hit on our trails. Any trails along the town roads exposed to the sun have all but disappeared. The NST (grade) has suffered the same fate if exposed to the sun, as well. To make matters worse, the snow that was predicted this past week passed south of us. And, the weather forecast for this week only calls for some rain and a little snow.

However, there is a silver lining to all of this. The wooded trails and the snow-covered fields have stood up to all this abuse fairly well. The flat trail base we have had is still flat. The heavily wooded areas still have a combination of snow and ice crystals mixed in to aid in cooling and lubrication. What this means is that if you can get to these areas there is still some good riding to enjoy. The corners and hills are still icy, so please be careful. With all this being said, we generally rate our trails to be Fair to Good.
